Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass & Harp

Scale and Prepared Etude Requirements

Ψ      Strings:  Violin, Viola, Cello – 3 octave scales   * Double Bass – 2 octave scales

 

Ψ      All Major Scales / Melodic Minor Scales up to & including 4 sharps and 4 flats – 30%

  • All Scales Must Be Memorized

  • Scales should be played in quarter notes with the tempo for the quarter note set at 120 on the metronome.

  • Bowings are Ascending: 2 slurred, 2 martele’ * Descending: 4 slurred

Ψ      Prepared - 40%

 

Ψ      Sight-reading - 30%
