Sixth Annual Millbrook Pre-Festival Showcase
Morning Clinic Format and Afternoon/Evening Contest September 18, 2010
The Showcase: Millbrook High School’s Sixth Annual Pre-Festival Showcase will offer two venues, a morning clinic exhibition and an afternoon/early evening contest. The clinic exhibition will provide an opportunity for your band to be critiqued without the pressure of competition. The contest will allow you to have your show evaluated early in the season and still enjoy the rewards of competition. Our goal is to provide an event that will give you several features:
Clinic Format: Morning exhibition, three adjudicator/clinician, one meeting with students and directors following their performance, critique using VBODA State Marching Festival forms, and two adjudicators will critique by caption. One caption Music Performance and one caption Visual Performance/GE.
Contest Format: Caption judging, two in each class (Music, Marching, and GE) based on VBODA criteria, use of state marching festival guidelines, different set of judges (you may want to participate in clinic and contest), awards, and more.

[Origin: 1880–85, American] —Synonyms 1. brawl, fracas, scrap, melee, donnybrook.
The 6th Annual J.R. Tucker Free-for-all is scheduled for September 18, 2010. The Free-for-all is a non-competitive marching band show that includes an on site workshop. There are no entrance fees, no admission cost and programs are free.
In addition to the workshop, judges will give written and/or taped comments. The workshop is designed to be engaging for the students, but with an eye towards the V.B.O.D.A. State Marching Band Festival. Interaction between directors, students and judges is encouraged! And the judges understand that the Free-for-all is an early assessment. Partial shows are welcome!

Thanks, and hope you have a great season!
